The Best Prescription

I anticipate death
but sickness I detest.
Doctors with their own agendas
long lists of patients to tend
so much easier to write a prescription
than journey the solution to the end.

The best prescription is resistance
to the frustrations that will come.
You must exercise patience
and prayer must not be outdone.
Smiles must increase a million times
and laughter become your best friend
because only you and your body
will have this thing to contend

So ignore the remarks and the doctors lists
of medications you must buy
take a walk
and eat more fruits and veggies
it can’t hurt,
so give it a try.
