Distinctively You

April 8 – National Poetry Month Challenge

There is that something,
maybe one or two
that always puts a smile on your face,
distinctively you.

Maybe it’s a game of monopoly
an old film or a few,
Sunday soccer with the guys,
distinctively you.

It may be a favourite meal
nothing fancy, something simple
but just the way it makes you feel
is all you need to show those dimples

Your favourite toy from yesteryear
an old photo you  hold so dear
No one else may understand
the memory it brings,
how it fit in your plan
but all in all I know this is true
that whatever makes you smile is distinctively you.
