Maa

With floppy ears and eager eyes
they gazed upon their master’s prize.
Such colour
such volume
so sweet, they could imagine.
Would it fall?
Would it slip?
Their master had a firm grip.
It never seemed possible, they would taste the sweet treat
try as they maa
try as they might,
it ended in defeat.
